Qatar International Diabetes Congress

Diabetes is a devastating disease that poses severe risks and costs for the healthcare community. The International Diabetes Federation estimates that the number of diabetics globally will reach 592 million by 2035. The financial burden on the healthcare system is substantial, with estimated costs of diabetes related complications accounting for up to 11% of total global healthcare spending.
This Qatar International Diabetes Congress is the region’s premier event connecting together policy makers, diabetes experts, researchers to exchange knowledge, generate new ideas that will foster the advancement in prevention and control of diabetes in the region.

Satellite symposium organised by the Influenza Diabetes Community, supported by Sanofi Pasteur: INFLUENZA IN PERSONS LIVING WITH DIABETES: PATHOGENESIS AND PREVENTION

the 7th ESWI Influenza Conference – focus on influenza, RSV and COVID-19 – virtual edition between 6 December – 9 December 2020. ESWI satellite symposium ‘Why influenza is a dangerous disease for people with diabetes’

ESWI secured a satellite symposium slot during the 55th EASD Annual Meeting (16-20 September, 2019). Marco Goeijenbier and Luc Martinez presented a scientific symposium programme to review current and new data on influenza vaccination of people with diabetes.
This represented a unique opportunity to integrate the topic of influenza vaccination of people with diabetes in meetings and conferences of the Community partners.
