World Influenza Conference 2024

The coexistence of multiple respiratory infectious diseases such as influenza and COVID-19 in the world poses a major challenge to susceptible populations and healthcare delivery systems, and poses a serious threat to global public health. WHO recommends that countries set a target of 75% influenza vaccination coverage for target populations. However, influenza vaccine coverage among susceptible groups remains low in many countries and falls far short of the target.

n order to strengthen exchanges, communication and cooperation among experts and scholars in the field of global influenza and respiratory infectious disease prevention and treatment, and to enhance the level of comprehensive prevention, treatment and response, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association(CPMA), Asia-Pacific Alliance for the Control of Influenza (APACI), Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) jointly initiated the World Influenza Conference, which has been held every two years and has been convened three times consecutively since 2018, which has had a broad and profound impact.
