ESWI participated in the EU Flu Day at the European Parliament, an annual campaign organised by the Steering Group on Influenza Vaccination highlighting the importance of vaccines against influenza, COVID-19 and RSV.

With promising developments in the field of respiratory viral infections, the conference sessions covered hot topics on seasonal, pandemic, and zoonotic influenza viruses, as well as other respiratory viruses such as RSV and SARS-CoV-2.

Health is one of the main issues on the minds of voters (32%) together with the fight against poverty and social exclusion (33%).

The discussions highlighted the crucial role of prevention, treatment and access to immunisation programmes to raise awareness and decrease the cases of RSV hospitalisations and deaths of young children and older adults.

In 2020, the world was hit by the worst pandemic of our generation. At the heart of the European Commission’s response to COVID-19 were cooperation and solidarity.
