European Commission adopts new Global Health Resilience Initiative

The Communication sets out the Commission's five priority areas for ensuring global health resilience:

  1. Promoting a more effective and less fragmented global health architecture
  2. Supporting resilient and country-led health systems
  3. Reinforcing international-level prevention, preparedness and response to global health threats and crises
  4. Diversifying global supply chains and manufacturing of key health products
  5. Bolstering societal resilience by fostering trust in science and countering health dis- and misinformation

Prevention, including vaccination, features prominently within the Commission's nine "flagship" initiatives for delivering in these priority areas. Implementation is planned to begin in 2026-2027.
