Marco Del Riccio is a public health physician and Assistant Professor at the University of Florence, Italy. His research focuses on the epidemiology, surveillance and prevention of respiratory infections, with a particular interest in patterns of circulation of respiratory viruses, adult immunization strategies, and public health communication.
He is also a Guest Researcher at Nivel in the Netherlands, where he worked closely with Dr John Paget on respiratory virus epidemiology and prevention, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on respiratory virus circulation.
He serves on the Scientific Secretariat of the Adult Immunization Board and the Steering Committee of the Global Influenza Initiative, and is a member of the Steering Group on Prevention of Respiratory Infections. His wider research interests include vaccine hesitancy and vaccine literacy.
