HaDEA: Health Technology Assessment - new opportunity to apply for Joint Scientific Consultations (JSCs)

On 3 June 2026, the European Commission opened the third request period for joint scientific consultations (JSCs) for 2026. 

JSCs enable health technology developers (HTDs) to obtain scientific consultation during the planning of the clinical studies and clinical investigations of a health technology on the information and evidence needs for a subsequent Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA).

This consultation aims to streamline evidence preparation for JCA and enhance the quality of evidence generation.

The request submission period is open from 3 June to 1 July 2026 to developers of both medicinal products and medical devices (for medical devices classified as class IIb or III and in vitro diagnostics classified as class D).
